Praktik Manajerial Dalam Pengembangan Bakat Seni Di Smp Unggul Calang
Abstract
This study aims to uncover and analyze managerial practices in the management of extracurricular arts activities at SMP Unggul Calang, Aceh Jaya, and how such management contributes to developing students' artistic talents and interests. Extracurricular activities not only complement the curriculum but also serve as a strategic vehicle for fostering students' creativity holistically. The research method used is a qualitative approach with a case study research type. Data collection techniques were carried out through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation of related parties, namely the vice principal for student affairs, extracurricular arts instructors, and student participants in arts activities. Data were analyzed through the stages of data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results of the study indicate that extracurricular management at SMP Unggul Calang has been systematically designed through thorough program planning, organizing instructors according to competency, structured activity implementation, and periodic evaluation. Arts activities such as regional dance, traditional music, and visual arts are an effective medium for channeling talents and strengthening students' cultural identity. The effectiveness of extracurricular management is highly dependent on the school's commitment, the support of competent educators, and active student participation. Appropriate managerial practices can create an inspiring and participatory alternative learning environment, positively impacting student character development, self-confidence, and creativity.
