Abstract

This study aims to describe the implementation of the principal's leadership in improving teachers' personality competencies at MTs Negeri 3 Aceh Jaya. The focus of the study is directed at how the principal designs strategies, manages coaching, and creates a work environment that encourages the formation of teacher personalities in accordance with professional standards for educators. This study uses a qualitative approach with descriptive methods. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, participatory observation, and documentation studies, then analyzed using the Miles and Huberman interactive model which includes data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results show that the principal applies exemplary leadership, persuasive communication, continuous coaching, and strengthening teacher work motivation through awards and recognition. This implementation has an impact on improving teacher discipline, responsibility, communication ethics, and professional commitment in carrying out their duties. The principal also utilizes academic supervision and regular meetings as a means to monitor teacher personality development and provide constructive feedback. This study confirms that the success of improving teacher personality competencies at MTs Negeri 3 Aceh Jaya is inseparable from the role of the principal's leadership that integrates the dimensions of moral modeling, personal coaching, and participatory management. These findings align with transformational leadership theory, which views leaders as drivers of change through inspiration, motivation, and individualized attention to their subordinates. Therefore, the leadership of a madrasah principal plays a strategic role in shaping the professional personality of teachers, which ultimately contributes to the quality of education and the positive image of the madrasah in the community.
