Abstract

This study aims to determine the effectiveness of the CaBaCa (Children's Story Reading) tutoring strategy in improving the non-academic achievements of early childhood children in East Bekasi Regency 7. The main focus of the study was on the development of socio-emotional aspects, creativity, and fine motor skills as indicators of non-academic achievement. This study used a qualitative approach with a case study method. The subjects were children aged 4–6 years who participated in the CaBaCa tutoring program at an early childhood education institution in East Bekasi Regency 7. Data were collected through observation, interviews with teachers and parents, and documentation of children's development during the learning process. Data are presented descriptively through narratives of each child's development before and after the implementation of the CaBaCa strategy. Indicators of change observed included children's active participation in group activities, their ability to express emotions, their creative work, and improved motor coordination. The results indicate that the CaBaCa strategy is effective in stimulating the non-academic aspects of early childhood. Children showed improvements in self-confidence, social interaction, and the ability to process ideas into simple works. This strategy is considered appealing because it combines storytelling, picture-based reading, and role-playing techniques, which are appropriate for early childhood development.
